The deadline for workshop registration is looming – 28 February. Have you booked?

One of the six pre-conference workshops being offered this year is Tendering for Government Work, presented by Peter Riches, a longstanding member of IPEd who is director of technical writing and editing firm, Red Pony.

Peter has successfully tendered for work with numerous state and federal government agencies, and in this workshop he will give you practical tips on how to meet the request for tender (RFT) requirements that are unique to public-sector projects.

Opportunities for work in this sector are virtually endless and offer an excellent vehicle to advancing your career – but what are the requirements? If you’re new to the sector, relax; it’s not as intimidating as it sounds. In this workshop, you will learn how to source and successfully qualify a request for tender, then develop a comprehensive, compelling and compliant response.

Armed with this knowledge and sound editorial experience and expertise, editors can assist businesses and not-for-profit agencies to qualify their RFT and win contracts, sometimes worth millions of dollars.

Tendering for Government Work will be a combination of presentation, discussion and practical exercises. Topics to be covered include:

  • qualifying the opportunity
  • competitive assessment
  • developing a response plan
  • insurance requirements
  • probity
  • contracts
  • panel presentations
  • contractual negotiation

The workshop is limited to a maximum of 40 participants.
